Many moons ago, our friend "Borgo" came to visit us in San Francisco. When he left, he deviously surprised us with a very thoughtful gift which, among many other things, began the tradition of us calling him our "favorite house guest of all time". Fast forward almost a decade of multiple trips together - domestic and international... and he continues to be one of our favorite travel companions, not least for his love of food and cooking.
When he was here just a few weeks ago, in the midst of one of our huge cookeries, he turned to me and asked, "Exactly why is it that you don't have an ice cream maker?". I was surprised to find myself unable to provide an adequate response.
Thankfully, Borgo came to the rescue. Behold our new love!
